Lisa, outstanding fabulous idea! I will continue to post videos of new candidates on my chat that I believe are earnest, hard working candidates who seek to flip MAGA seats! If their voices are heard, people will educate themselves about alternatives to those slaved by Kleptocracy! It’s time to flip tables!

Thank you! There is so much to do! We need to network together, we need to reach the people who have given up voting because they don't feel heard. We can get big money out of politics and reclaim this country to have a government that works for all of us, but we have to be united to do it.

Lisa, also on Grammy’s chat, we’ve started another protest music thread to get ideas! We need a new chant! Something everyone knows the words to!

Great! I am still struggling with headaches and brain fog. I know Beds Are Burning is a protest song, but not appropriate to retaking the country from oligarchs.

I posted it anyway. However, a protest song is a protest song. I do believe, however, we need to respect solidarity, if we champion this action. I can donate, make people aware of new candidates, and fight against kleptocracy and oligarchs! When people just start saying, β€œNo,” to this administration, it’s a beginning!

Exactly! No is the start. I think within the next day or so I am going to start refining the decisions of β€œwhat is best for the majority” questions. There are so many we can all agree with, like an amendment that ends Citizens United. That would fix so much going forward at least. Abandoning the tax cuts for the wealthy and carve outs, etc. to return to a more progressive tax system. Bodily autonomy - decisions between doctor and patient without government intervention. Some things will be a big lift because of the entrenched wealth and power. We don’t have universal healthcare because health insurance companies make billions in profit annually.

That is why I want a roadmap, and help with policy. If we are a democratic republic, there will be compromise and incremental change.

Somehow there has to be an understanding that β€œreligious freedom” means practice your faith as you want, but your neighbor doesn’t have to believe like you do. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

A government should be elected BY the people and FOR the people. Forget about the Corporate Welfare Queens as they don’t need the tax breaks more than the hard working & middle class Americans do.

Exactly. If we stand united we can make elected officials accountable. I am planning another open letter to my officials, and scheduling personal visits. It is my mission to get them voted out of office

Lobbyists have deep pockets though.

Well... deep pockets is not a requirement for lobbying. Money might talk, but Wisconsin proved that you can't reliably buy enough votes. An educated and engaged population that is willing to insist on accountability from their elected officials could have a lot of power. We've given up as we've watched money pull all the levers. There are more of us average people (and wealthier people who believe that responsible government for all is a good thing) than there are billionaires who are extracting cash as fast as they can out of the United States through subsidies, tax breaks and other things.

We just need to be organized and not lose hope! :)

Seems like a great idea, Lisa. Important for the long term. I’m more concerned about the short term. I believe that we need to support a general strike: one day, the two days…. These immoral creeps in DC and MAGA, besides being hateful white supremacists, understand only one thing: money is power. I’m a β€œnobody”, too. A 77 yr old in Philly who feels the absence of a rallying cry! What’s ONE IDEA that we can all support? The Dems in Congress need to stop arguing with each other and focus on the MOST IMPORTANT rallying issue. It’s gotta be BIG! A BIG IDEA! FREEDOM? JUSTICE? WORKING CLASS?

I’d love to get some feedback here.

Thanks for sending me your invitation

I keep debating the strike idea for a few reasons. A lot of people not shopping for a day or two will be just buying the same amount later, not affecting much as far as the bottom line goes. Strategic shopping - completely abandoning Amazon, Target and Walmart, switching to smaller grocery stores (HyVee is employee owned, for example, and IGA (independent grocer association) grocery stores are still around in Missouri under various names) and hardware stores, maybe trying to order direct if necessary. Absolutely starve the billionaires.

On the not showing up to work thing. I don’t know if two days would be feasible for some (I am thinking of my son, who makes less than $20/hour and has a family of four to feed), especially if they are in a place with high enough turnover to risk being fired if the rest of their coworkers don’t also walk off.

I think if we could get enough people to abandon as much of the billionaire businesses as possible - Facebook, Amazon, etc., etc. that could be an awakening for them.

Our organized voices are our legislators. We need to lean on them harder. Vote them out if they don’t do what we want.
